I am a seasoned IT professional with over twenty years of experience in infrastructure, cloud technologies, systems design and technical management. My career spans from hands-on systems engineering to leading cross-functional teams in demanding international environments, always with a focus on secure, resilient and cost-effective solutions.

Over the years, I have developed a strong passion for solutions architecture, IT leadership, and the practical application of emerging technologies. Recognised as a pragmatic problem solver, many colleagues refer to me as “The Machine”—a reflection of my determination and consistency in delivering results under pressure.

I currently serve as Technical Manager for a global software provider, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity and cloud strategy across multiple regions. My role is to align technology operations with business priorities, manage distributed teams, and lead initiatives in cloud adoption, automation, security hardening, and AI integration.

A strong believer in AI as a practical enabler, I actively apply it across my work and personal projects—from AI-powered infrastructure dashboards and security monitoring to research into agentic AI for automation, decision-making and cross-team collaboration. AI is not a side interest, but an essential layer in how I think about IT, leadership and problem-solving.

My background includes running a small MSP in Portugal, leading IT operations for multiple organisations, and nearly a decade of teaching technology with institutions such as the Portuguese government and private banks. This mix of technical depth, leadership and teaching experience has given me the ability to communicate effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.

Outside of work, I remain deeply engaged with technology. I enjoy building virtualised environments for experimentation, exploring cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, and working with modern technologies including containerisation, automation frameworks and advanced security tools. More recently, my focus has expanded to cybersecurity, cost optimisation, and the fusion of AI with IT operations.

I believe IT is no longer a background function but a strategic enabler of business success. My role is not only to deliver technology but also to act as a bridge between IT and the executive table, ensuring that decisions add measurable value, resilience and security to the organisation.
